It was a lot of work…special thanks to my partner John Carr whose ideas and patience really made it all come together through our collaboration.The show will be up for 2 weeks, shown by appointment for those who could not make the Open Studio. This is your chance to see the works hung and well lit…appointments for viewing works are always still available in the studio although it won’t be quite as elegant! Thanks all!

Here’s a colorfield work just completed, it was inspired by my last commission “Midnight Truffle”…thanks for helping me to evolve the concept to this fruition Jane!

—What can become of this…all the little things I can’t help collecting. Scraps of society blend into collaged scenarios…there should be more coming soon!

It has been my pleasure to be involved with the South Fork Breast Health Coalition’s Annual Art Birdhouse Auction, founder; Karyn Mannix of East Hampton, NY.

Here is 2007’s auction entry-

“Nude Descending a Birdhouse”; an homage to Marcel Duchamp’s groundbreaking “Nude”.

(Can you tell how much fun I’m having with these?!)

Here is “Titmouse Guggenhouse”, 2005…a mixed media “birdhouse” influenced by Frank Lloyd Wright’s NY Guggenheim Museum.

And here: “Hurdy Gurdy Birdy Hut”, 2006, a mixed media “birdhouse” influenced by the architecture of Frank Gehry…with the addition of a “hall of mirrors” upstairs!

Another wonderful project was the San Francisco Library’s “Reversing Vandalism” Exhibition of books that were vandalized by some nut, mostly attacking the Gay & Women’s Issues departments. The guy was finally caught, though, he had ruined hundreds of books.

This was my effort to give this particular book new Life:

Every October San Francisco artists join together with ArtSpan to coordinate city wide open studios. What a pleasure it’s been being able to set the studio spaces up for guests to see all the latest works. It’s worth coming to visit for the studio tours alone but, do find a guide map: there’s Art of every flavor…something for everyone here!
